A major paving project is set to begin in Independence.
City Engineer John Garris says work will soon be underway on Main Street between 8th and 2nd streets, one of the major streets in the city.
Garris adds that the work will be adjusted so that it does not interrupt Neewollah.
Garris says because that section of road sees so much traffic, most of the work will be done at night to limit the disruption.
