A law enforcement officer is injured during a police stand off in Galena.

 Galena police were called for a wellness check late yesterday afternoon. After making contact with the male subject, officers learned the man had an outstanding warrant. The man then attacked the two officers, cutting one of them with a piece of glass. The man then retreated into his house, barricading himself inside and refused to come out. Galena police then requested the assistance of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team. Officers used gas to enter tha house and take the man into custody.

The unnamed man now faces multiple charges including Aggravated Battery against a Police Officer.
