A traffic stop in Parsons leads to an arrest of the driver.
Yesterday evening around 9pm, a P-P-D officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle he witnesses traveling at 55mph in a 30mph zone. During the stop, the officer discovered that the driver – Charles Dixon IV – was driving without a valid drivers license. He was also found to be in violation of the offender registration act for an aggravated burglary conviction.
Dixon was taken into custody and transported to the Parsons Police Lock-Up. He faces charges of Violation of Offender Registration, Driving Without Valid Driver's License and Speeding
Parsons Police Patrol Lieutenant Kyle Wiford stated that this is a great example of how a "routine" traffic stop can lead to bigger issues and how effective traffic enforcement is at finding criminal behavior that would otherwise not be found.
