Under the advisement of American Wholesale Grocers, the Caney Grocery is sustaining itself. The store was one of the topics discussed during a lighter session of last night's Caney City Council.

 City Administrator Kelley Zellner says the numbers are beginning to balance.

 Zellner credits AWG for their help in getting Caney Grocery back on track.

 Zellner also credits the staff and management of the store, making sure the advisement of AWG is being followed. He says shoppers will continue to notice changes in the store, even in how items are signed and displayed.

 Discussions will continue in the coming weeks on the distribution of duties with store staff and management.

 In other business, the council began the process of looking at the 2025 budget, and voted to condemn a property in the 400 block of State Street.
