A man and woman from Oklahoma are seriously injured in a single vehicle crash in Montgomery County.

A 2002 Dodge Dakota, driven by 31-year-old Shawn Benson, was northbound on County Road 3900. The Dodge veered left of the center line, leaving the roadway and into the ditch striking the culvert. The Dodge slid sideways striking an electric pole and coming to rest. Benson was extricated from the vehicle by the Coffeyville Fire Department. He was transported to Coffeyville Regional Medical Center with suspected serious injuries.

His passenger, 24-year-old Kaitlyn Benson, was also transported to CRMC with suspected serious injuries. Neither the driver or passenger were wearing their seatbelts. A juvenile passenger was also in the vehicle but their condition is unkown. Evergy arrived and removed the transformer and pole.
