The results of the 2024 primary election are canvassed in Labette County.
The results from the August 6th primary were made official at this week's Labette County Commission meeting. The two biggest races in the primary were for two seats on the county commission. In District Two, Incumbent Republican Terry Weidert defeated challengers L.G. Simmions and Tyler Shelton with almost 55% of the vote. Weidert is unopposed in the November general election.
In District Three, Republican Challenger Tom Barrett beat incumbent Cole Proehl with over 65% of the vote. Barrett will face Democrat Bradley Dutton, who ran unopposed in the primary, in the general election. Labette County joined the other 105 counties in Kansas in completing their election audits for the 2024 primary. The general election is Tuesday, November 5th.
