It's back-to-school time across the four states and going back to hitting the books can mean stress for parents and teachers alike.
Dr. Ravi Johar with United Health Care says, even in the midwest, students can feel strain and stress from a variety of sources.
Johar says it's an important time to listen to your kids about their concerns and feelings. He also says getting back into a predictable routine can help.
Back-to-School anxiety usually isn't a cause for concern, but signs that it IS something more serious can include school-related distress after the first month of school, refusing to go to school, avoidance of school activities, and symptoms such as stomach aches, fatigue, or sleep issues.
