Here is an update to a story we brought you Thursday.

A teenager is glad to be alive after being rescued from Elk River in Noel, Missouri, late Wednesday afternoon.

McDonald County Sheriff Rob Evenson says the call came in around 5:00, saying the 15-year-old boy had been underwater for an unknown period of time. The teen was in cardiac arrest when pulled from the water. Bystanders were able to rescue and perform life saving measures.

McDonald County Sheriff’s deputies and first responders from the Noel Fire Department were able to revive him, using an AED machine and CPR.
