A tractor-trailer accident on I-44 injures the driver and causes a delay at a major intersection.

 Around 1:45 this morning, Joplin 9-1-1 received a report of the overturned tractor-trailer near the interchange of I-44 west and Highway 249, near mile marker 11.6 in southeast Joplin.

 The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the westbound tractor-trailer overturned to the right of the roadway, spilling thousands of spools of copper wiring.

 The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Joplin Fire, Joplin Police and METS ambulance responded to the accident. I-44 was reduced to one lane during the clean up process.
