Parsons Police arrest a Pittsburg man for failure to register as a sex offender.
The arrest of 34-year-old Charles Levi Miller happened around 2am this morning (Wednesday morning), after police on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle in a high crime area. An open-air sniff by a K-9 officer alerted the investigating officer to the presence of controlled substances. A search of the suspect's vehicle found illegal drugs leading to Miller's arrest.
Further investigation revealed that Miller is a registered sex and drug offender on Kansas and has been in violation of compliance with the law for over 380 days.
Miller faces two felony counts of Aggravated Violation of Offender Registration, one felony count of Violation of Offender Registration 2nd Offense, and one misdemeanor count of Possession of a Controlled Substance
