The livestock barns are busy with activity at the Inter-State Fair and Rodeo.
The bred and owned heifer show and prospect steer show took place last night, and 4-H and FFA students were busy taking care of their animals. Oklahoma Union Senior Darla Fesmire says her family raises show cattle and she's been getting animals ready for the fair since the age of seven.
Darla's sister Daylyn is in 7th grade at Oklahoma Union and says there are easy and hard parts about raising cattle.
Livestock events taking place today include the rabbit show at 8 a.m., sheep show at 9 a.m., poultry show at 1 p.m. and goat show at 4 p.m. The poultry show will take place in the Ron Stevenson Building. All other events will be in the livestock arena.
