Montgomery County Commission Meets But Conducts No Business

The Montgomery County commission meets but conducts no business.

The Montgomery County Commission met yesterday for its regular weekly meeting.

The meeting was called to order at the regular 9am start time by commissioner Robert Bever. Bever says that extenuating circumstances means there can be no meeting.

Commissioner Larry McManus was not present at the meeting and has been absent for several weeks due to illness in his family, while Commissioner Mike Cordray is currently recovering from a recent surgery. Since at least two commissioners are required to make a quorum, no business was conducted. Bever then adjourned the meeting and began a work session with County Administrator Jonathan Booe and Financial Director Fred Gress. Next week's meeting will convene at the regular time of 9am in the lower level of the Montgomery County Judicial Center in Independence.
