Staff at South Coffeyville Public Schools are gearing up for another busy school year.
The first softball game of the year took place last night, and tonight is open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Superintendent Daryl Pruter says returning students and parents will notice some changes tonight when they return to school.
The first day of school for South Coffeyville is Thursday.
In other business, the board approved a bid for five new electronic signs totaling just under $50,000. Three will be inside the school buildings to display announcements, one will replace the aging electronic portion of the current sign across from the fire department and a new sign will be put up along U.S. 169 to direct visitors towards the school.
