First responders in Chanute conduct a water rescue near the Neosho River.

 Chanute firefighters answered the call on Saturday night of reports of a person who had slipped and become stuck in the mud on the banks of the Neosho River. Rescuers used rope systems to secure the person from sinking further into the mud while a shovel was used unearth the victim. The rope system was then used along with a webbing harness to pull the person up the steep embankment to safety.

There were no injuries reported.
