An inmate at the Johnson County Department of Corrections fails to return from a weekend work detail.
The Kansas Department of Corrections has placed 24-year-old Ricardo Marin-Valdez on escape status after he walked away from a work detail near Olathe on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
Marin-Valdez is an Hispanic male, five-foot-11-inches and weighs 206 pounds, with a heavy build. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing black t-shirt and camouflage shorts.
Marin-Valdez was serving a 15-month sentence for drug-related convictions. He is considered dangerous. Anyone with information on him should contact KDOC Enforcement, Apprehension, and Investigations division at 816-266-2102, or call 911.
