The City of Independence has four new police officers on the job.

 I-P-D officers Stormy Musgrove, Dominic Powell, Yamilka Pereira, and Kayne Abrams were sworn into their new position last week. All four graduated from the Kansas Law enforcement Training Center. New I-P-D Police Chief Dustin Stafford welcomed the new officers, stating it was very exciting to welcome them into the I-P-D ranks. Independence Mayor Tim Emert told the new officers that seeing them sworn in made everyone on hand feel good.
