Yesterday, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly ceremonially signed Senate Bill 1, the bi-partisan comprehensive tax cut measure passed in June.

 Kelly signed the original bill in to law earlier this summer after calling a special session of the Kansas Legislature specifically to craft this bill. Kelly and the legislature had been at odds over the tax package during the last legislative session and had failed to come to a compromise.

Kelly called the tax cut package long-overdue tax relief for all Kansans, adding that the measure will continue to fund schools, roads and bridges, and other essential services while putting money back into the pockets of taxpayers.
