Three men are arrested during traffic stops in three separate drug related cases in Montgomery County.
On Friday, a deputy initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of 18th and Maple Street in Independence. Police Service Dog Sancho arrived on the scene and alerted deputies to the presence of drugs. Deputies found methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The driver, Joe Coy of Coffeyville, was taken into custody and booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
On Sunday, at around 2:45am, another traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Buckeye and Velma Street in Coffeyville. Deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. Deputies found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and hydrocodone pills. The driver, Shonterric Flowers, of Coffeyville, was arrested and booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine, hydrocodone pills and drug paraphernalia and several traffic-related offenses.
Later that morning, at around 4:45am, a deputy conducted another traffic stop in the 1100 block of W Main Street in Independence. During this stop, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle. A search found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun. The driver, Max Hedges of Elk City was arrested and booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon.
