The City of Fredonia gets a clean bill of financial health in their 2023 audit.
Phil Jarred from Jarred, Gilmore & Phillips of Chanute was on hand at last night's Fredonia City Commission meeting to present the findings of the 2023 audit of the city's finances. Jarred reported to the commission that the city is in good financial shape. Interim City Administrator John Torline also recognized the volunteer efforts of Fredonia resident Ralph Hight for his help in reconciling city finances. Torline says the city appreciates Hight's help.
In other business, the commission approved a bond ordinance to provide long-term financing for completed sewer projects. They also approved the final disbursement of funds to Interconnection systems, Inc., for their work on the solar farm project.
