Cheney, KS, track coach completes a long-distance run from Wichita to Denver and does it all for a good cause.
Rick Wulf – who is a teacher and track coach at Cheney High School west of Wichita – undertook the 500 mile run in July to benefit the Tennyson Center for Children in Denver. The Center's purpose is to help children and families affected by neglect, abuse, and trauma to find ways to heal. Wulf has been volunteering at the Center for nearly 20 years.
He says he felt better than he expected during his 18 day run, during which he ran 30 miles a day.
Wulf says he hoopes to one day organize a relay between Wichita and Denver and to get high schools and students across the state of Kansas involved.
