New Wrong-Way Sensors Headed to Arkansas Highways

The Arkansas Department of Transportation approves the use of wrong-way sensors on Interstate 40.

The move is an attempt to reduce the number of head-on collisions on the roadway. The sensors will include a camera and flashing lights to notify drivers. They will also send an alert to law enforcement about the type of car driven and where the incident occurred.

The project is expected to cost around $55 million.
