Primary Election Day in Kansas

Today is Primary election day in Kansas.

Polls open at 7am this morning and will close at 7pm tonight.

Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab says voter turnout may be low for the primary based on the number of ballots that have already been cast, stating that turnout may be similar to 2016, when turn out was around 24%. Schwab calls for all Kansans to exercise their right to vote today and urges all registered voters to make their voices heard.

As the August 6th primary approaches, KGGF's election guide is available for Montgomery, Labette, Chautuauqa and Wilson Counties.

Interviews with area candidates including several running for Kansas' Second Congressional District are available within the election guide.  That seat is held by Jake LaTurner, who is not seeking reelection.

In addition, a recording of the Republican candidate forum held in Independence and broadcast on KGGF is available in the election guide, plus a link to the Kansas Secretary of State website where you can view a sample ballot for where you live.

KGGF will provide live election updates tonight starting at 7 p.m. during the Royals on The Mighty 690.
