The results of an autopsy and the cause of death are released for a child that died on a Joplin flight in June.
8-year-old Sydney Weston of Carl Junction, MO, experienced a medical emergency on an airline flight from Joplin on June 13th. The plane was forced to land early in order to get medical help for the child who was later pronounced deceased. The Peoria County, Illinois, Coroner has now released the results of the autopsy, stating that Weston died as the result of complications due to an underlying auto-immune disorder.
A statement from the Coroner's Office emphasized that thoughts and prayers remain with the Weston family during this difficult time.
