A Wichita firefighter dies following a house fire in Haysville.

 

 Wichita Fire was helping neighboring fire crews in nearby Haysville yesterday afternoon. The fire was quickly brought under control when the Wichita firefighter was reported to be unconscious and not breathing. He was taken to the hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.

 

The firefighter's name has not yet been released and it is unclear whether the death was due to injury or a medical emergency.

 

In a statement made via their Facebook page, Wichita Fire says the loss weighs heavily on everyone in the department and called the dedication of this firefighter and all firefighters noble and selfless. W-F-D asks that everyone keep this firefighter's family and crew in your prayers.
