Girard native Derrick Mein has a strong finish at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 38-year-old Mein competed at his second Olympic Games in trap shooting and placed 5th overall, just missing the podium and a bronze medal. Mein says he is happy with his performance since it was an improvement from his 2020 Tokyo games where he finished 24th.
Mein started trap shooting at the age of 8 when he joined his dad in a small league in Girard. He currently makes his home in Paola.
