A passenger car becomes stuck on railroad tracks and is struck by a train.
Around 9:30 last night, a passenger car attempted to cross a C-P-K-C railroad crossing in Neosho, MO, and became high-centered on the tracks. The driver of the car was able to safely escape the vehicle, but authorities were unable to warn railroad officials in time to stop the on-coming southbound train. The train struck the car, sending it spinning off the tracks.
The debris from the accident was quickly cleared and the train was able to continue on its way about an hour after the accident occurred.
There were no reported injuries.
