Nowata County Commission Grant Expenditures Triggers Audit

At this week's Nowata County Commission meeting, County Clerk Kay Spurgeon informs commissioners that county expenditures have triggered a Single Audit Requirement from Oklahoma Emergency Management.

Spurgeon says the Audit is triggered when the county spends more than $750,000 in grant money in one fiscal year.

Pending the outcome of the audit, it is possible the county may owe money to the state. The county has nine months to complete the audit.
