The Independence Police Department is asking residents to check their surveillance cameras for possible video of some weekend thefts.
Residents in the 900 block of North 6th Street, the 200 block of East Sycamore, the 1300 block of Irving, or the surrounding areas are asked to check any security video they might have that was taken on Friday night/Saturday morning between midnight and 4am. I-P-D is looking for video of any individuals on foot in that area in connection to a series of car break-ins and thefts.
I-P_d reminds everyone to take their keys out of their cars; remove bags, backpacks and valuables; roll up car windows; and lock your vehicle. Police believe all of the cars that were broken into were unlocked at the time.
