The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Kansas Department of Corrections are investigating the weekend death of an inmate at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.

 

 Staff at the facility found 36-year-old Matthew Dean Warren unresponsive in his cell on Sunday afternoon, July 28, 2024. Those on scene began life-saving measures but were unable to revive Warren. His cause of death will be determined by an independent autopsy.

 

Warren was just two months into a ten year sentence for theft and burglary in Reno County.
