The City of Independence is set to expand the hours of legal alcohol in the common consumption areas of downtown Independence.

 Executive Director of Independence Main Street Tabitha Snodgrass says the year-old ordinance has caused no significant problems.

The current hours of legal consumption will be expanded to 9am to 2am Mondays through Saturdays.
