Coffeyville Begins Flushing Water Lines

The City of Coffeyville begins cleaning water lines with free chlorine residual.

The City began today and will go all through August. During this period of time, residents may notice some chlorine tastes and odors in the water. There is no cause for alarm, and this is being done purely as a precautionary measure, and as part of their ongoing efforts to provide residents with the safest possible drinking water.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment routinely recommends that public water supplies that utilize a combined chlorine residual perform an annual cleaning of the water distribution system with a free chlorine residual. If residents have any questions they can call the Municipal Water Treatment Plant at (620)252-6150 between 7:00am and 3:00pm Monday through Friday.
