Six southeast Kansas counties are among the forty counties state-wide to receive grants from the Kansas Rural Opportunity Zone or ROZ Local Marketing Grants.
Governor Laura Kelly and Secretary of Commerce David Toland made the announcement Friday, July 26, 2024. The funds are intended to help counties market the unique ROZ financial incentives available to new residents: Student loan repayment assistance and/or 100% state income tax credit. Funding will assist the counties and local partner organizations as they develop customized marketing strategies best suited for their community.
Crawford and Montgomery counties received $10,000 each, while the counties of Elk, Labette, Chautauqua, and Greenwood will each receive $5,000 in funds.
