There's good financial news for the City of Independence.
The City's recent audit of their finances by Gordon CPA comes back clean. Chief Auditor Shawn Gordon tells the Independence City Commission that the audit looks good.
Other items of business at this week's commission meeting include a proclamation making August 3rd Carrie Ingalls Swanzey Day and a change to a city ordinance extending the hours of legal alcohol consumption in the common consumption area of downtown Independence.
