Candidates for offices in Montgomery County face off over issues.

 

 Candidates for County Clerk, County Commission, and County Sheriff sparred last night at the candidates' forum in Independence.

 

Candidate for Montgomery County Commissioner for District #2 Charlotte Scott-Schmidt says the most important issues for her are property taxes and retaining good employees.

 

Candidate Phil Clubine agrees those issues are important, but says the County must control spending.

 

In the race for County Clerk, Candidate Misty Wilson says the three and a half years she has spent as Deputy Clerk give her the experience needed to step into a new role.

 

Candidate Ami Standridge says her strong sense of values will help her serve the people of Montgomery County.

 

In the contest for Montgomery County Sheriff, incumbent candidate Ron Wade says a drop in crime shows his approach to law enforcement works.

Candidate Bobby Dierks says he is a man who works for the people.
