A joint drug task force makes an arrest and seizes drugs in Cherokee County.
At around 7:30 this morning, the Ozark Drug Enforcement Team, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Entry Team and the Galena Police Department served a narcotics search warrant at 412 Washington Street in Galena. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office joined the Ozark Drug Enforcement Team earlier this year to enhance enforcement efforts toward those trafficking and distributing illegal drugs throughout the region. The warrant execution in Galena was the result of one of the joint investigations currently being conducted.
During the search, a large quantity of methamphetamine, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia, was seized from the home. Arrested was 28-year-old Sabrina LaTurner, who was transported to the Cherokee County Jail on allegations of distributing a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
