Wilson County is hoping to receive funding to help with damage from recent flooding.
The county has applied for a Presidential Disaster Declaration for the flood damage that occured earlier this spring. County Coordinator Kris Marple says they have an application hearing regarding the request next week.
Additionally, the county made a motion to approve the bid from Starbuck Trucking in Fredonia regarding a landfill project. Marple says Starbuck was the only group to submit a bid before the deadline.
Other items of business at this week's meeting was an update from County Clerk Kayla Busch, in which 29 mail ballots have been collected so far, as well as 45 in person voters, regarding advance voting for the August primary.
The next commission meeting will be July 31st at 9 a.m. in Room 101 of the County Courthouse.
