The victim of a weekend shooting in Pryor has been identified.

 

 Police have identified the victim in Sunday night's shooting at the Pryor Econo Lodge Motel as 40-year-old Aaron Gonzales. Gonzales was discovered in the parking lot of the motel with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his wounds.

 

James Leroy Jackson was taken into custody as a suspect in the shooting. Police say they found five guns inside Jackson's vehicle when he was stopped. He is being held in the Mayes County Jail on multiple charges including first degree murder.

 

Investigators say Jackson and Gonzales did not know each other and that the shooting was unprovoked and random.
