Neodesha City Commission Approves Resolution for Downtown Improvements

The City of Neodesha takes the first step toward a downtown renovation.

At this week's City Commission meeting, commissioners heard from representatives from the Griffith Group. The group wants to renovate the Brown Hotel in downtown Neodesha by turning it into apartments and office space. A representative from Neodesha's bond counsel Triplett, Woolf & Garretson Andrew Kovar says the resolution before the commission signals the city's willingness to proceed with the project.

While the resolution is not a solid commitment to the project, Mayor Devin Johnson says he strongly supports the move.

Commissioners approved the resolution by a unanimous vote. In other business, the Rankin Library Board was expanded to seven members and Mayor Johnson issued a proclamation declaring August 6th as National Night Out.
