Police in Wichita are investigating a baby that was left abandoned in a city canal near the interstate.

 The 11-month-old girl was discovered around 1:30 yesterday afternoon in the canal near !-135 and Pawnee in south Wichita. The baby was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Police say a man named Vincent James Perez may have information on the investigation. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 or contact detectives at 316-268-4407
