A Wichita man convicted of animal cruelty is sentenced to more than a decade in prison.
31-year-old Logan Cavender was sentenced following a no contest plea to 10 counts of animal cruelty stemming from the discovery of 10 dismembered cats found in rural Sedgwick County in 2022. He also pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of stalking and breach of privacy related to other crimes discovered during the animal cruelty investigation. The judge in the case sentenced Cavender to the maximum penalty for each charge, calling him a threat to public safety.
