Montgomery County Prepares for Road Repair Project in Coffeyville

Montgomery County is getting ready for a major road repair project on south Buckeye Street in Coffeyville.

Preparations for the project have been in the works for weeks as various entities have moved water lines and utility poles to allow for the work. At this week's County Commission meeting, Public Works Coordinator Jim Wright submitted a $343,000 invoice to the commission for Atmos to relocate gas lines in the area. Wright says the relocation of those lines is one of the final steps in preparing for the road work to begin.

Wright also says the speed limit on Buckeye will need to be lowered in the run-up to the road closure.

In other business, County Appraiser Melody Kikkert asked commissioners to allow the sale of one vehicle and the purchase of another for the appraiser's office and the issue of mowing around the county health department was also discussed.
