The 2025 budget for the city of Caney was shown to those in attendance during last night's (Thursday night's) special meeting.
City Administrator Kelley Zellner says the city will use what was adopted Monday night.
One mill in Caney is equal to just over $11,800. The library will receive $5,000, while the museum will receive $7,000. The new mill levy rate would be 50.653.
Zellner says the budget leaves very little room for error.
He also says things will get better for Caney, especially when the connection with Coffeyville is complete.
The date for the budget hearing will be September 3rd at 6:30 p.m. At City Hall, 100 West 4th Street, in Caney.
