A Cherokee County man is arrested for sex crimes.

Just before 8:00pm Tuesday, Cherokee County deputies were dispatched to a Weir residence. As a result of their investigation, 60-year-old Francisco Torres, of Weir, was taken into custody near the scene. Torres is suspected of approaching a senior while she was outside her home gardening and attempting to sexually assault her.

He is being held in the Cherokee County Jail on allegations of criminal restraint, assault and sexual battery.
