A Pittsburg, Missouri, woman faces charges of felony animal cruelty after allegedly leaving 13 puppies in crates inside a hot car.

 Macey Casteel claimed she was on her way to Oklahoma to sell the cockapoo puppies when she stopped in Springfield and left the puppies in the car unattended. Reports indicate the dogs may have been left in the car overnight for nearly 8 hours. Ten of the 13 puppies died or had to be euthanized following the incident. Springfield Police continue to investigate.
