Two are injured in a shooting in Independence.

Yesterday evening, Independence Police officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 400 block of West Locust Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence indicating that a shooting had happened at the location. Officers were informed that two people had arrived at different nearby hospitals with gunshot wounds. Both victims were involved in the shooting incident at the 400 block of West Locust.

The incident is currently under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting. IPD is asking anyone in that area to check surveillance cameras and notify them if anything that may be relevant to the case is observed.
