Several items were tackled at the first Cherryvale City Commission meeting without Jonathan Booe as city administrator.
Two recommendations of the planning and zoning commission were approved, including rezoning to allow pet goats at 509 E 1st Street for Dennis and Dorothy Patry, and approval of a home occupancy application for Darrell Linder for a home-based bait, tackle and gun shop.
In other businesses, the council heard an update on city buildings, approved opening bids for dozer work at Lake Tanko, the bush dump and Highway 169 property. In addition, the council approved opening the bid process to remove metal and debris from properties purchased at the county tax sale. An abatement of public nuisance at 135 W Whelan Street was approved, and the council met in executive session for more than 30 minutes with former Interim Coffeyville City Manager Tim Wilson, as well as a separate session with City Clerk Karen Davis. No action was taken during either executive session.
