The heat wave will last one more day before we get a break in the high temperatures.
A heat advisory will be in effect for southeast Kansas, most of Oklahoma, southern Missouri and all of Arkansas today. The advisories start between 11 and 1 p.m. and will last until 8 p.m. Coffeyville is expected to see a high of 99 with a heat index up to 109 today.
There's also a marginal chance of scattered severe weather tonight after 5 as a cold front approaches the area. The primary hazards include high winds and quarter-size hail. KGGF will provide severe weather coverage if needed tonight.
