A small aircraft is damaged after a weekend accident near Winfield.

 The plane – a 2004 Series 7 KitFox - was piloted by 60-year-old John Swofford of Fort Worth, TX, and was en route to a final destination of Fort Worth when it landed at Strother Field around 2:15 on Friday afternoon. After the plane landed, a gust of wind caused the plane to lose control and the pilot was unable to correct. The small plane came to rest on a grass embankment and sustained major damage to the prop and left wing. The pilot was uninjured.
