There are a pair of important election dates in Chautauqua County this week, in preparation for the August Primary.

 

Tomorrow, July 16th, is the deadline to register to vote or update voter registration information, in order to participate in the primary election.

 

Wednesday July 17th is the first day of advance voting. For questions or additional information, contact County Clerk Niki Collier at 620-725-5800, or by visiting the election office at 215 N Chautauqua Street in Sedan.

 

The commissioners also began work on organizing the county budget during this week's meeting. Commissioner Rodney Shaw says he'd rather cut back in other areas, than raise taxes for the county.

 

The Chautauqua County Commission meets next on July 22nd at 8:30 a.m. in the County Courthouse in Sedan.
