At this week's Neodesha City Commission, commissioners got an earful from citizens regarding the number of rundown houses in poor condition in the city.
One citizen says he thinks it's currently the biggest issues faced by the city.
Mayor Devin Johnson says the city does take the issue seriously, stating that it seems like the least that can be asked of homeowners.
Johnson says the city has implemented several new ordinances with the aim of improving houses in Neodesha and that City Manager Brogan Jones is meeting with officials in Independence today in an effort to model their approach to the issue. The Neodesha City Commission then approved several measures to take abatement action against four dangerous structures in the city.
